The novel features a multiracial cast. There is an underlying love story beneath the mystery. I wanted to explore a pure love. A love that regardless of time or distance would endure.

The lead character, Camille Sheridan, is a lawyer turned private investigator. She's hard-working, intelligent, and beautiful. She's also tough and believes in fighting for the “under-dog”. When it comes to looks, I thought of Dorthy Dandriged when I created the character. I wanted her to be sexy and classy, but still be able to kick some ass.

This is quite a leap from "My Heart In Seoul". It's definitely a darker, more intense story. Some of the subject matter was difficult to delve into, but it was necessary for the authenticity of the story. Layla Li is Camille's partner in crime. She’s stylish, quick witted and has a bumper sticker on her car that reads: “It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog”. The story spans over a decade and a half, and it took me a year to write it.

About the "Meet Me Under The Lavender Sky" book trailer.

While working on the video for Lavender Sky I searched high and low for a song. I wanted the music and lyrics to reflect the story. When I heard the first note of the song “Autumn Leaves” I knew it was the one. It’s as if the song was written for Jasmine and Wen. It’s about longing to be with the one you love. It’s painfully beautiful and compliments the images in the video. I like to think of it as Wen and Jasmine’s theme. Some readers have told me that they became very emotional after watching the video.
