"Brooklyn’s Song is one of the most pleasurable reading experiences for me over the past few years. This highly entertaining romantic novel seamlessly blends suspense and police drama from start to finish, resulting in a deeply satisfying reading experience. The plot and sequences were well thought out, as we were introduced to the characters and the events of the story at just the right time, which made me want to continue reading to find out what happens next. The chapters are very short, which makes it easy and engaging to read. It never felt like you’re simply reading just for the sake of finishing the book whilst fast-forwarding the pages or chapters, which was what I was doing when I was reading Bram Stoker’s ‘’Dracula’’, Arthur Schnitzler’s ‘’Dream Story’’ or Nanako Haneda’s ‘’The Bookshop woman’’ earlier this year.
Now, let’s talk about the characters. The chemistry and connection between the AMBW leads, Brooklyn and Song, were terrific. The feelings that they both had for each other, and the dialogue between them, felt so real and relatable that you can’t help but build an emotional attachment to them and root for them until the very end. Another noteworthy character is Matrice Blake (Song Kai’s duty partner). He is a very likeable fella and one of the highlights of the book. Their dynamic, banter and bromance made the novel extra special.
In short, Brooklyn’s Song is one of the best AMBW novels currently available, and trust me, you’ll not be disappointed."
