Love...At what cost?

"All I Ask of You"
"No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears;
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
My words will warm and calm you.
Forget these wide-eyed fears;
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
My words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
Let daylight dry your tears;
I'm here, with you, beside you,
To guard you and to guide you.
Let daylight dry your tears;
I'm here, with you, beside you,
To guard you and to guide you.
"Say you love me every waking moment,
Turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always;
Promise me that all you say is true,
That's all I ask of you.
Turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always;
Promise me that all you say is true,
That's all I ask of you.
Let me be your shelter,
Let me be your light;
You're safe, no one will find you,
Your fears are far behind you.
Let me be your light;
You're safe, no one will find you,
Your fears are far behind you.
All I want is freedom,
A world with no more night;
And you, always beside me,
To hold me and to hide me.
A world with no more night;
And you, always beside me,
To hold me and to hide me.
Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime;
Let me lead you from your solitude.
Say you need me with you, here beside you,
Anywhere"… Full lyrics on Google Play

Sunday reading..
**** #Free with #Kindleunlimited.****
Kick back and relax this weekend with Brooklyn’s Song; a novel filled with mystery, suspense and romance.
“So damn good… The author skillfully takes you through suspense, humor, romance and thrills. An incredible read."
“Everything you want in a good mystery romance story. This was such a good story to sink your teeth into and just simply enjoy. The well fleshed-out characters were people you could actually know and like. There are some moments when you are just laughing out loud and there are moments when you are just sighing because you imagine it happening. This is a well written thought out story with a little something for everyone. I look forward to reading more from this writer.”

Fierce magnetism.
Holiday movies:"It Happened on Fifth Avenue."
I've always been a huge fan of classic movies and some of my favorite classics are the ones with holiday themes. We've all heard of and watched "It's a Wonderful Life," and the hilarious "A Christmas Story;" but one of my favorites is the movie "It Happened on Fifth Avenue." It's heartwarming and funny too. It's on our list of holiday movies to watch every year.

Yay! Luther returns.
This is one of my favorite shows. I read that down the road there is going to be a "Luther" movie. It's so well- written and Idris is simply outstanding. Check out the first season on Amazon.

Brooklyn's Song..

Spice up your Sunday...
With this passionate tale filled with heartbreak, sensual romance, mystery and suspense.
Review:
"This is the love journey of Brooklyn and Song. Brooklyn is the privileged daughter of the first African-American governor of the state of New York. Song is the son of a 1st generation South Korean. Brooklyn although privileged she grew up with all of the best that life has to offer she was a pretty down-to-earth young lady. She is a elementary school teacher. And Song is your average run-of-the-mill New York City detective.
These two meet and sparks fly immediately but as you would imagine both carry baggage very similar baggage they both know a bite and Hurt of a very close loved one dying before their time. They both recognize this pain and each other even before they discuss it. However things get very real when someone tries to hurt Brooklyn. Overall the story was a very good one although they were times I wanted to shake Brooklyn. But overall it was a good story especially towards the end. I recommend this book to you. The story is both interracial and an HEA."

What's in a name?
Growing up one of my favorite movies was "Sparkle", starring Irene Cara, Lonette McKee, Phillip Michael Thomas, Dwan Smith and Dorian Harewood. My sisters and I have watched that movie so many times, we probably can recite the script, word for word.
I paid homage to some of my favorite actors/actresses from the movie by naming some of my characters in "Brooklyn's Song" after them. For example, Brooklyn's best friend is named Lonette.
Let me know if you recognize any of the other actors' names in the book.

"Brooklyn's Song" review:"
"The author takes a detour from her usual engaging interracial romance stories and introduces the reader to an absorbing story that seems to delve into political conspiracy. It is an authentic narrative with some adorable and quirky multiracial/multi-ethnic characters, a true representation of New York City. Protagonist Brooklyn Pierce has just witnessed an attempted assassination, and Detective Song Kai and his partner, Detective Mattice Blake, are on the case.
But as the story progresses, sparks begin to develop between Brooklyn and Song, providing the reader with a story line overflowing with sensuality, compassion and romance amidst the onset of drama, tension, suspicion, deception and murder and an explosive ending, which you will never see coming. I enjoyed the mutual respect and compassion that Song and Mattice have for each other; they demonstrate what it really means to serve and protect its citizens."
