The big freeze..

It's only 2 degrees outside...It's a good day to stay inside near the fireplace, grab a nice hot cup of cocoa and a good book. It really is too cold for "man or beast." The weather forecast in New York calls for more temperatures below freezing for the next few days.. Yikes! Now would be a good time to take that Honolulu vacation✈ that I'm dreaming of... I checked it's in the 70's there.🌞

Favorite movie/ series of 2017 💝

• Mudbound-"Two men return home from World War II to work on a farm in rural Mississippi, where they struggle to deal with racism and adjusting to life after war."  I think the performances by Garrett Hedlund, Rob Morgan, Jonathan Banks, Mary J. Blige and Jason Mitchell made this film shine. I love a film with a good narrator.

• Okja- "Meet Mija, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend - a fascinating animal named Okja."  Visually this film is pretty amazing. I'm an animal lover so I really liked the plot. Tilda Swinton, Seo-hyun Ahn, Jake Gyllenhaal ( Like you've never seen him before)  and Paul Dano  delivered  superb performances.

• Mr. Mercedes-"Tells the story of a psychopathic killer who drives a stolen Mercedes into a crowd and a recently retired detective who tries to bring him down."  I love a good detective, mystery and this series didn't disappoint.
  Brendan Gleeson, Kelly Lynch and Harry Treadaway made this series worth watching.

The holiday season doesn't feel complete without watching "It's A Wonderful Life." I adore the balcony scene with the moon. They just don't make them like this anymore...I love the classics.

Another holiday film to watch...

I love sitting by the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa and watching the old classic holiday films. If you get a chance, check out "It Happened on Fifth Avenue." It's funny, romantic and heartwarming.

"A homeless New Yorker moves into a mansion and along the way he gathers friends to live in the house with him. Before he knows it, he is living with the actual home owners."
