Character profile: Peaches Bastille from Summer & Joon

 Peaches was such a fun character to write. She's based on a combination of women I knew growing up. She's kind, caring, beautiful and bold. Peaches changes her hair, just as much as she changes her outfits. She's  a loyal friend and will help anyone in need. She always has Summer's back and adores Jacob.

Character profile: Dane Alexander from Summer & Joon

  

It was very important to me that the character Dane be written as an honorable man. Too many times, African American men are put into a stereotypical box of being absent fathers and abusive partners. I love the relationship Dane has with his son, and how he’s always looking out for Summer. He’s had hardship in his life, but with Summer’s help, he made it through.
