Protagonist Brooklyn Pierce has just witnessed an attempted assassination, and Detective Song Kai and his partner, Detective Mattice Blake, are on the case.

But as the story progresses, sparks begin to develop between Brooklyn and Song, providing the reader with a story line overflowing with sensuality, compassion and romance amidst the onset of drama, tension, suspicion, deception and murder and an explosive ending, which you will never see coming. I enjoyed the mutual respect and compassion that Song and Mattice have for each other; they demonstrate what it really means to serve and protect its citizens. "

"Descendants of The Sun"

I've received a few e-mails telling me I must watch "Descendants of The Sun". It looks like a really cool film; so I've added it to my list of movies that I plan on watching this summer. 

"A love story develops between Captain Yoo Shi Jin, from South Korean Special Forces and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon, who works as a Surgeon at Haesung Hospital in Seoul. They will find themselves in the middle of great events and deadly dangers, both in their Motherland and in the fictitious, war-torn country of Urk."

"Bacheha-Ye aseman" ( Children of Heaven)

This is one of the best family films I've seen in a long time. The bond between the brother and sister was so precious and beautiful! 

 "After a boy loses his sister's pair of shoes, he goes on a series of adventures in order to find them. When he can't, he tries a new way to "win" a new pair."

"Electric Shadows"..

 I watched this superb film last night and I really enjoyed it. It was beautifully written, well acted and very touching. The cinematography was visually stimulating.

"The beauty and tragedies of China's history are reflected in the lives of a handful of film fans in this historical drama. Mao Dabing (Xia Yu) is a delivery man working in a small village in rural China during the latter days of the Cultural Revolution. Mao is a movie fan who lives for the periodic outdoor screenings held in the town square, but he meets a bigger buff one day when, after he has an accident on his bicycle, he's assaulted by Ling-Ling (Qi Zhongyang), a cute but overly excitable young woman. After she's arrested, Ling-Ling gives the keys to her apartment to Mao and asks him to look after her fish while she's in jail; though puzzled, he agrees, and discovers her flat is a veritable museum of movie memorabilia. 

Ling-Ling's favorite star is Zhou Xuan, a singer and actress who was a major screen idol in the 1930s and inspired Ling-Ling to take a stab at acting, and when Mao's curiosity gets the better of him he starts reading Ling-Ling's diary, discovering she grew up believing her father was a major male star of the era. However, the truth is far less glamorous."

A reader wanted to know who inspired the character Detective Song Kai? There were so many handsome guys to choose from...But I like to think he's a combination of a few  Korean actors.

“Everything you want in a good mystery romance story. This was such a good story to sink your teeth into and just simply enjoy. The well fleshed-out characters were people you could actually know and like. There are some moments when you are just laughing out loud and there are moments when you are just sighing because you imagine it happening. This is a well written thought out story with a little something for everyone. I look forward to reading more from this writer.”

"11-22-63"...

If you get a chance check out the mini-series "11-22-63; based on a book by Stephen King.  I watched the last episode last night and It was excellent. 

Sounds of Spring and Summer..

In the Spring and Summer I love to hear the cooing of Mourning doves.  I have a ton of them living in the trees that surround my house. The sound is so sweet and tranquil.
