"I am the new year."

"I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.

I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months.

All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination.

All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.

All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have—these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose.

I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, "Behold, I make all things new."

Have a  very happy, healthy, and Safe New Year!

Tender passage from "My Heart In Seoul"

After finally finishing the book, my friend told me how much she liked it. This is one of the many passages she said, "moved her."

He stared in her eyes for a moment, and then he leaned over and kissed her. As their lips touched, he could feel the sobs in her throat vibrate through him. He felt her tremble when he pulled her closer to him. Her perfume smelled sweet, a delicate fragrance, that reminded him of lying in dew covered grass on a warm summer’s night after a rainstorm. “Jasmine,” he whispered.

" Perfect! I love it! I would say this book is defined by a unique and clever plot, a few twists and turns that help keep it interesting, and of course tons of passion between admirable and dynamic characters. I know that I will definitely be recommending this to some friends and I'm sure that they will be just as satisfied as I am with it.

I love the genre, and though I admit that I can be quite (sometimes unfairly) critical when it comes to romance, I really have nothing bad to say about My Heart In Seoul and it's left me more than happy and with an author to keep an eye on. I'll definitely be looking forward to future releases by Sydney Arrison."

Why not spend the weekend with Jasmine and Wen?

Check out my interview with One World Singles Magazine's Vivienne Diane Neal..

Question Vivienne:

As a writer, what has been your biggest challenge, trials or tribulations that you have overcome?

  Answer Sydney:

Often times it's very difficult to visit the fictional world, because real life is knocking on the door. While working on my latest book "My Heart In Seoul," my best friend was gravely ill. She and I knew she didn't have that much time left. Although my heart was broken and my spirit shattered, I knew if I stopped working on the book I wouldn't have finished it. Being able to visit Jasmine's and Wen's world is what kept me afloat. I couldn't wait to find out where the story was going next. Writing was definitely a welcome escape from reality. I think some of us do our best writing when we are "going through something."

I'd like to say  thanks a bunch to  Vivienne for the interview. To check out  One World Singles Magazine's blog and read the entire  interview  Click here.  Also if you're interested in purchasing Vivienne's latest book Click here .

What's it all about?

One of the biggest compliments I received regarding the book is ...It "transcends your average romance novel."  I never was a huge romance novel fan, I love JD Robb's "In Death series.  I've  always thought of the series as suspense with a little bit of romance sprinkled on top.

My favorite authors are: Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, Michael Koryta and Gregg Hurwitz.  I knew while working on the book that I had to bring more to the table than a hot couple and some steamy love scenes. I wanted the book to be substantive. "My Heart In Seoul" is not just a love story, but it's also about finding family and building a family.

"I was enthralled by this book. I laughed and cried. Like a delicious treat I didn't want it to end. The story was sweet and beautiful."

"Transcends your average romance novel....A lot of heart, thoughtful, funny and moving with a healthy dose of the unexpected. I don't see how anyone would not enjoy this book."

"This story will steal your heart A great read for a jolt of "happy!" I am not usually a romance genre reader, but was looking for a dose of adventure mixed with love. This book fit the bill. "

"Absolutely loved the book!  I cant recommend this book enough! Sat down too read this, and couldn't put it away. If you like a good romance novel, I am recommending it to all men and women. Especially men, who think a romance novel should only be read by women. This will take you by surprise. I will say no more!"

Tender passage from "My Heart In Seoul"

I really enjoyed writing the tender moments in the book.  I think there's something so sweet and seductive about having someone look at you, as if you're the only thing that matters in the world. I love the sweet looks, glances and the "almost moments." Where the characters are getting to know each other.

Tender passage:

Wen and Jasmine walked along the street festival.  As they walked, Wen’s hand gently brushed against Jasmine’s, he felt her soft, delicate skin; and for a fleeting moment, he wanted to reach over and take her hand. He remembered the way she nuzzled her face against his neck, as he carried her to the limo. She felt so fragile and small. Yet, there was something about her that was powerful, magnetic and captivating.
